OIRA AGM, 23 April 2018

The OIRA AGM will be held on Monday 23 April, 6.30 for 7 pm in the Mary Town Room at West Oxford Community Centre. It’s a chance to meet your neighbours, have a say in what you’d like the committee to do in the coming year and to volunteer for events. Wine, soft drink and nibbles will be served.

The (very short) business part will be followed by two talks:

  • Representatives from the police will talk about the problems of drug dealing on the island
  • Jo Emberson-Wines, senior manager for the Environment Agency’s Osney Yard, will explain the work they do in the yard such as lock maintenance and dredging

Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme: Osney drop in session, 15 Feb

In response to the request for more Osney-focused discussion, the Environment Agency has organised an informal drop-in session at West Oxford Community Centre next Thursday 15 February.

Members of the Flood Alleviation project team will be available to discuss the scheme and how it will benefit/impact Osney Island.

The session will be 7.30–8.30 pm in the Mary Town room. You can come along at any time during this period and there will be people from the EA and OFA available to explain what is planned and to answer questions.

They apologise for the short notice but this was the best available date before Easter.

There was a story in the Oxford Mail today stating that the City Council has provided the outstanding funding required for the scheme to go ahead – really good news.
